Windchill

This digest-sized zine covers the hardcore scene, and reminds me of many underground punk zines from a decade ago. It’s packed with interviews and reviews, loosely-bound with poorly reproduced photos, and contains enough enthusiasm to burn. The main guy here, Nick Oxner, gives an apology up front for “another damn Fugazi interview” as he talks with Ian MacKaye prior to their Halifax show last summer. It’s true, MacKaye has probably been interviewed by a million small fanzines, but he never fails to give respectful and intelligent answers. Other profiles include One King Down, Immigrant Sun Records, and Pagan Hellfire (“currently the only black metal band in Nova Scotia”). (DF)
