Without reservation, this is a feminist newspaper. The cover story of its first issue focused on the drunkenness defence in that landmark rape case, pointing out how if this doesn’t show that equality Another article on abortion rights reminded readers that as long as doctors are being shot for performing them, the fight is not won. Two good looks at “Feminism is…” gave some insight into the different connotations of feminism. WENCH also printed a couple of brief personal essays that were interesting; “Words i like ” & “Me, Myself and You”, and had a couple of theatre reviews and some poetry. Be clear about one thing with WENCH, this is not an instrument of “man bashing” or anything like that. Instead it is an intelligent expression of feminist viewpoints seeking understanding not humiliation. Ya, this means we liked WENCH.
