I no longer understand graphic novels. I thought every comic was made to stand on its own, well embedded in a longer narrative. Violet Miranda, Girl Pirate doesn’t, and the art doesn’t come close to carrying your attention through the plot. The book is about two girls who have been seperated by a kidnapping pirate. They are savvy girls who will fight and kill for their freedom and their friendship. But beyond that I missed the point of issue 3. I guess I’d ought to read the first two, but I’d rather not.
