There are two kinds of noise music: the scattered, ambient thing and the power electronics wall of blarg. Any one “song” can combine the two in any number of arrangements but that’s basically it for genre dynamics. If that’s the kind of thing that tickles your sphincter, check out this comp of Mount Real noise-niks. If not, don’t get deceived by this release’s holiday postcard packaging. Those hoping to hear some Quebec rhumba hits will be somewhat disappointed. (Terence Dick)
