Somebody who shall remain nameless told me that they weren’t that keen on Unified Conception. I find this mind-boggling. Unified Conception is a cuddly stuffed-bear kinda 4zine. It is a homage to the petty larceny of a boring life; small crimes are perpetrated just for kicks and the certain thrill of almost but not quite getting into trouble. Here are some of the stories I read with, well, interest isn’t quite the right word, but, then, what is the right w o r d . . . p u s i l l a n i m i t y? mirth?…anyway, Jenn goes to a garage sale in Montreal that doesn’t exist. A scam artist tries to rip her off when she is on duty at an Arby’s cash register. Name-tags are lame. All that and ‘zine reviews, funny ads, David Hasselhoff and the Six Million Dollar Man. If you are looking for a way to break into the ‘zine world, you know, just kinda jack open a window and take a quick look without actually climbing into the basement Unifed Conception is it. Oh yeah. One more simile. As threatening as cherry jello.
