Underground magazine is a livestock farmer and genetics researchers’ worst nightmare. But if you say “fuck them!” and are seeking advocacy of animal rights and some moral courage to illegally use any means necessary, then this magazine is your ticket. Underground is the official Magazine of the North American Animal Liberation Front Supporters Group. It provides comprehensive news and communiqués from radical animal rights organizations and dispatches from the battle fronts. For supporters the magazine is obviously a critical resource. But even for non-committal carnivores like myself, it makes compulsive reading. Pages and pages of bulletins from across the globe about mink farm raids and industry terrorism are incredibly absorbing — the confrontations are dangerous and the numbers of liberated animals is sometimes staggering — and certainly not the sort of stuff my daily newspaper is reporting. For all the above, this magazine is dynamite. (DF)
