Underground

Inside issue #8 there are countless reports of liberation actions and activist raids from all over North America and Europe. Of special interest in this issue is an article from the radical group MOVE who, taking their inspiration from the teachings of John Africa, write to encourage the A.L.F. and all freedom fighters for Life. Other articles tackle how to sabotage McDonald’s, an interview with an E.L.F. member, and a mink farm liberation. This zine is pretty good at reporting the many and various kinds of actions and protests happening in many places but pretty light on analysis. For example I can’t help wondering why closing down a small local butcher shop by sabotage and intimidation (which can be done quite easily) is seen as a heroic part of the struggle, when it’s the greed of the huge meat-industry and agribusiness that deserve more of their ire.
