TOUNGES

A literate compilation that overcomes the juvenile ‘why does all shit have to suck?’ attitude with an unspecified dignity. Maybe it’s the poems and excerpts from the likes of James Joyce and Langston Hughes, or it could just be the sheer variety of material, and Ryan’s obvious fixation with matters of the real, as opposed to the trivial. He asks bands like Eric’s Trip and Plumtree real questions, and his poetry relies not so much on impressions, as on reporting those impressions. The distinction is important. For instance, the best part of this zine was by far the illustrated fantasy folk-tale “The Adventure of the Picking” where Yum E. Tum stumbles into shroom heaven, but learns his lesson. Fantasy and reality blend into nothing closer to the truth then anything else. Hey, anyone know how to spell the word for that fleshy thing that sits in the pit of your mouth and keeps rubbing against your teeth?

  1. Excellent blog you have here but I was curious if you
knew of any community forums that cover the same
topics discussed in this article? I’d really like to be a part of online community where I can get opinions from other
knowledgeable people that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
    Kudos!

  2. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much
about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.

I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but
instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A
fantastic read. I will definitely be back.
