Then She Deflated

Kind of a personal lit zine which chronicles the details of the editor’s life. A very difficult thing to review mind you. How do you evaluate someone’s personal writing? Then there’s the issue of interest – well, you are either interested in the events of her life or you’re not. Or, you like the way she documents her life or you don’t – maybe that’s a better angle. Like a personal pictorial autobiography that you send out into the world – anonymously and with the faith that others will read and understand, finding a little bit of themselves in the events surrounding your life. In it Nicole, who describes herself as usually reserved, details in a personal, introspective way a trip to Toronto to see bands play, a trip to the Science Centre and some harrowing experiences with a man she corresponded with over the internet, who turned out to be a murderer! Stranger than fiction – but would make a great story. (RT)
