The Violet Archers – The End of Part One

Tim, like Paul, was the cute one who played bass and wrote all the nice songs, but this, his first solo record apart from the Rheostatics is not his Mull of Kintyre (or maybe it is, I’ve never actually heard that record, I just like the name). According to my wife, The End of Part One, the song and the album, is sweet. Normally, she hates it when I review CDs because I force her to listen to all manner of squall and cacophony. She doesn’t have an ear for out-of-tune experiments like I do. She’s into softly strummed chords, gentle vocals, harmonies and pop choruses. This is right up her alley. (Terence Dick)
