The Oneida Commune

You might remember Zeesy Powers from Canzine. Or you might remember her name from her name, because let’s face it-Zeesy Powers is a pretty unforgettable name.

Trampoline Hall. Do you know that lecture series? It’s one of the few small scale indie venues in Toronto that has been recognized by an international audience (thank god).

Created by author Sheila Heti, this lecture series has a goal: to get people up on stage talking about things they know nothing about.

“I love expounding on a subject in front of a captive audience,” Powers says on performing at Trampoline Hall. This is where she talked about the 19th century free love commune of Oneida, New York, and if you missed the performance-not to worry. You can catch up pretty quickly by picking up a copy of this zine, where the PG cover deceives you into the hot honey inside. Yowza. Or should I say Zeesy. (Nadja Sayej)
