Okay this Shonen Knife thing is becoming a problem. I mean no other band except Nirvana (the subject of the other comic John sent us) are as ubiquitous in Canadian ‘zine land as the kitsch queens of Japan. Is it a Canadian thing? Do Canadians love Shonen Knife more than the people of any other country love Shonen Knife? Or have they just permeated the minds of ‘zinesters everywhere because, well, they are perfect icons for exuberant pop praise — I mean what harm have they ever done to you? Nothing! In this ode to the Knifes John goes to their concert and they ask for him by name! However, obstacles are put in his path and he is prevented from fulfilling one of his life-long dreams — meeting Naoko, Atsuko and Michie.
