TC was first a monthly, then it gradually went out of commission, became a website, and was finally resurrected as the serious contender it is today. This is basically the weekly alternative to the Georgia Straight. What it lacks in professionalism it more than makes up for in its dedication to and support for real indie culture. There are columns, reviews, attitude, and the comics of Marc Bell. I hope this time they can make it last. I also hope that they continue seeking out cool indie culture happenings rather than starting to rely on the now standard alternative weekly trick of reviewing mainstream schlock from an “alternative” standpoint.
