Residents of Toronto will recall losing yet another of what seems like a never ending series of horrid elections. This time, the mayoralty of the much maligned megacity went to the hair- challenged, egocentric furniture-store entrepreneur Mel Lastman. At least one candidate was worthy of being elected – busker Ben Kerr, profiled in the latest issue of the TO fanzine, the zine “dedicated to the stars and fans of the Toronto scene”. This “Ben Kerr limited collector’s edition” features an oration by the regal songwriter to his fans, plus notes on Ben by T.O. Fanzine editor Carmin Priolo and rare clippings from the “King of Cayenne’s” eventful life. Ben, you got my vote. Better luck next time. (HN)
