A whole other world awaits you inside these “concept” booklets. There’s a whole variety of booklets apparently, but we’ve only seen “WarBirds” which takes place on Geilth, a large satellite of a Saturnlike planet. The main actors here are Mesuldans who are one quarter human and only recently colonized this world. Get the picture? These elfish folk have wild flying machines and complex structures, environment and wars. That’s where WarBirds come in – to fight and protect themselves from invading others on the planet. The booklets are full of careful line illustrations of the Mesuldans, their WarBirds and the treacherous landscape that figures in these battles. For anyone into sci-fi type other worlds created wholly from someone’s head, these are well executed, thoroughly thought out and remind me of what D&D might have started like.
