Even the most brilliant writing can be lost if it’s crammed onto tiny pages in near- illegible type that hurts your eyes. And this isn’t the most brilliant of writing. This is also an issue from December 1997, so I’m not at all sure what that says about the viability of this zine. We get a bunch of articles, rants really, about how the super-rich really suck. Ditto corporations, ditto the NDP, ditto the Smiths. There’s an article on Judi Bari, the late Earth First activist who was car-bombed by, depending on your conspiracy beliefs, the FBI and various multinational corporations. There’s a long rambling piece called “Loud Rock” which manages to take every possible position on black metal, death metal, speed metal, metal metal, record companies, fascist metal bands, non-fascist metal bands and lots more. I have no idea what the point was. And my eyes hurt from trying. (KR)
