Vancouver cartoonist Brad Yung’s bests all competitors in the effort to convey the post-ironic atmospherics that cloud our empty age. In one segment, Yung’s altar ego and his pal rush off to the grand opening of “Lotsa Coffee”. Once settled in front of their mugs of java, they fall silent and disaffected, gazing into space as if to say – this is my life? Yung, as usual, takes the pulse of contemporary life and immediately decides he’s too depressed to bother attempting a resuscitation. (HN)
