Stanzas

The new edition of Stanzas, a poetry zine from rural Ontario, focusses on the poetry of Carla Milo and a collection of her work titled “A Medical History of Saskatoon,.” The poetry — small tales intended to roughly correspond to systems of the human body — is pretty good. I especially like “Meds and Allergies” with its opening of “well, there was the time hives molested my body.” Although, if Carla is to be believed, Saskatoon isn’t the greatest or healthiest place to live in the world.
