Sojourner: The Women’s Forum

What struck me first about this issue was the sizeable review insert—looking at primarily at books but also performance and film. The cultural aspects of radical feminism are phenomenally important to the editors and readers of this long established publication. This particular issue focused on sexual rights, including a review of E. J. Graff’s ‘What is Marriage For’, articles on transgendered people of colour and an excellent piece by prisoner/HIV activist Tina Williams—‘We Fought for Our Rights and We Loved Each Other.’ This is a publication that deserves to be widely read as it is optimistic in its approach and uncompromising in content.
