Slice of Life

Zine, Sylvie Michaud, blackbirdink.ca

As one might imagine from 25 mini  stories crammed into 31 pages, some are  interesting or at least entertaining, some  are neither, and most are just okay. These  stories are the results of writing prompts  and it shows, as most of the stories in  this collection seem unfinished. A few  of them are cloyingly precious and aren’t  given the space to mature into anything  other than mundane vignettes. There  are some compelling characters and  situations sketched here, some I would  have liked to read more about, and it’s  disappointing they aren’t fleshed out  further. It would have been better for the  author to have picked the best of these  stories and expand them by one or two  pages rather than publishing this uneven  assortment of her work. (Mary Green)

  1. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?

I mean, what you say is valuable and everything.
Nevertheless think about if you added some great visuals
or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your
content is excellent but with images and clips, this blog could definitely be one of
the best in its niche. Fantastic blog!

  2. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know
so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home
a little bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog.
An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.
