This comic zine was a pleasure to behold. So minimalist and shiny, with its colour cover and laser-print pages. What a great backdrop for the clean lines and haunting drawings of Suzy Malik. I love her art whenever I come across it, so to find a small concentration of it was a treat. The words created by Zoe Whittall accompanying the drawings are crafted perfectly to fit the comic format. A little says a lot and their styles piece together in a delicious collaboration. Definitely worth picking up, even if just for Percy 1976…the story of a kid born at the same time as a small forest planted by her parents. This allows her to “compare notes on growth” and she grows some pretty cool root-wings of her own. (heze douglas)
