Rubbing a Bad Charm

The creator of this charming work defines it better than we can: ” A short story, a picture i drew, and a couple of other things.” Yeah, well that gets at the heart of the matter. Except that the short story is more vibrant and happening than most of the stuff I’ve read in Canada’s established ‘literary’ journals. Heads get unzipped, peanuts are eaten, and razors come into play. Here’s a sample paragraph: “The truth be told, I haven’t unzipped my head in a over a month. Most people do it as regularly as they brush their teeth nowadays. The doctor says I should. There is so much filth in the city. It can strangle my brain and stop me thinking straight. Tonight I will go home with my date to tangle and struggle under his mess of warm hair appendages. I will try to sleep amidst the tentacles. That is how a supper date is supposed to end.”
