Raw Nervz Haiku

I’m glad this journal exists. I like thinking about the haiku enthusiasts represented in this collection going through life translating their mundane experiences – haircuts, walks in the woods – into tiny poems. The best part of it, for me at least, are the essays where authors explain the context for haiku they’ve written – I like the way the prose gets interrupted by these little haiku nuggets. Having said that, 52 pages is a LOT of haiku, and it’s not all brilliant. But if you’re a haiku enthusiast, or dream of becoming one, this looks like an excellent resource. (Wendy Banks)
