Raw Nervz

The first thing I have to say before I make this review is that I HATE the haiku. I don’t hate a specific haiku – I hate the form in general. Having stated my prejudice, I feel that Ms. Howard has put together two quite substantial zines dedicated to this little known and even less loved form. We get reams and reams of the three lined poetry, perfectly illustrated in the following example by MR. Edward J. Rielly: rain/melting/winter. Now if you’re big into this stuff, then I would have to say that Raw Nervz is definitely your Canadian dealer. However, if you’re somebody like me, and think these so-called three lined gems are a waste of paper, then stay well clear of this zine. (DP)
