QWERTY

Young upstarts mix college-style yearnings with irreverent witticisms. In this issue they are much closer to where they want to be than ever before. Gee, I guess that would make this there best issue yet. Well alright. The first story by Mike Belyea will destroy you. It is probably the best piece of writing yet to appear in QWERTY. Dark, dank and hopeless, it captures the downward slide of an alcoholic, desperate school teacher. It was so good, it reminded me of the great James Kelman’s novel A Disaffection that also focuses on a desperate, boozed up teacher. Check it out, and definitely send them your stuff. (HN)
