Somehow this thing brings to mind the Mod Squad – no not the new movie thing, but the 70s (60s?) TV show. I can’t really tell you why, after all, there’s just one main character not three, and she’s not even a cop. Maybe its her boss shaggy afro, or her non-stop 70s retro look with cleavage a-go-go. Or perhaps it’s her tough yet sexy 70s style sorta feminist ass-kicking style. Or it could be just that as fantastic as the illustration is – and it is – there’s a strangely dated aura hovering on the margins of this thing, backed up by the short bio piece on 70s comic great Steve Gerber of Howard the Duck fame. And if that’s not enough to get you to trundle down to the post office, surely the Pinocchio vampire strip will do it for you, with Geppetto as the maiden-sucking vampire. (HC)
