Okay the main character here is a square uh, er a cube who says some of the stupidest, things I’ve seen in a comic in a while, as in reminiscent of the Ed the Sock schtick. In “Gardening Realities” the well-drawn but tedious and lame square uh, er cube gives us “did you ever notice that only girls an’ poofs like flowers?” which sets up a mock macho thing about plant names. In “Anti- Communist Rant” we get “If you don’t work you don’t eat. That’s my feelins” and so on. Now it’s true that I have no idea who the namesake Phillip Arnheim is, and that might make the whole thing a bunch funnier, but as it stands this thing gave me no motivation to find out. (HC)
