People’s Voice
This issue has the same strengths and weaknesses as previous ones did. The local news about BC is interesting. The attempts to fight Victoria’s anti_panhandling bylaws and the struggles of BC’s projectionists’ union told me things I didn’t know, and provided facts to inform me. The rest of the paper continues to trot out rhetoric, especially about Mike Harris, a monetary union with the US, the war in Kosovo and Cuba. (In order: bad, bad, bad, good). And I know they’re connected with the Communist Party, but are even hardcore reds going to read an article headlined “Athens meeting of Communists & Workers parties marks important advance?” (KR)
