Pants All Night

In spite of my initial impulse to not get too cozy with first person narrative, writer Frayn Masters dishes up some delightful stories in her book from SmartCookie Publishing, “Pants All Night.” The stronger pieces in this series of short stories, however, stand out because of their quirky characters and ambiguous non-sequiturs. Masters includes one-liners, which aren’t as strong as her weaving of more complete tales complemented with strict attention to detail. Masters saves the best for last in this book with my top two: “Duct Season” and “Stork.” (Carolyn Tripp)
