Paniscus Revue

Paniscus reviews practically everything – music, books, zines, videos- If you browse through the Paniscus website, you can even find reviews for pork rind. I’m not talking about one little review here, Crites has an entire section dedicated to pork rind of all sorts. The Botanero Guerro variety is one of Crites’ favorites: “The crunchier samples are dense and flavorful, with all of the desired baconesque taste and none of the tooth-chipping unpleasantness.” Now he takes the intake of pork products very seriously, and you just have to respect that. I found the print version of Paniscus to be enjoyable and to contain a very large amount of reviews about all sorts of good things. I really like Crites’ honest and witty style of writing. You can tell he’s not trying to kiss anyone’s ass. There’s quite a bit of art work in the print version, most of it is Crites’ own, presumably. The website also features a great deal of art work in the “Gallery” section. The print version is full of good stuff and very informative, but I strongly suggest checking out the website, since new reviews are added on a regular basis. (Audrey Gagnon)
