Out of Bounds

This magazine is produced by prisoners in the William Head penal institution. It publishes the poetry, short-stories and articles of prisoners. Despite the magazine’s desire to appeal to all readers, Out of Bounds is of far more interest to those who are currently incarcerated. Besides the literary writing — memorable only for what it evokes of life in prison — the other articles are mostly concerned with the details of prison life in Canada in general and William Head in particular. Richard Kowbel’s article about the rules concerning prisoners owning personal computers was well-written and thought provoking.
