Nourishing Endomentriosis

This is the best zine in the bunch I received simply because it is thoughtful, engaging, well presented and on a subject that actually matters. So often anti-matter seems to be the rule of the day. Why this is the current state of the union, I’m not certain. The photocopied photography are fuzzy and grainy which I really liked; the whole thing is printed on this nice medium grit sand coloured paper. I learned a lot from this zine; unlike a poetry zine or a magazine about cars or fencing, this one was didactic in the right way, essential, inherent really. You see, it’s about reality. Which I think deserves so much attention these days. Endometriosis is a chronic, painful disease that occurs when endometrial tissue is found outside of the uterus, implanted on other parts of the body. Want an example? “According to one theory, endo is a congenial condition and is present at birth. This means that the endo arises from the embryonic female genital tissue that never made it to the inside of the uterus during development.” Did you know that having an orgasm can sometimes help to reduce menstrual pain by reducing muscle spasms and pelvic congestion. I’m not trying to be facetious, this was really fascinating and important for me to discover, and for anyone on the planet actually. Tea recipes, biological feedback, pain maps and some helpful tips like that we should all know like avoiding refined sugar, caffeine, etc. (NGM)
