I gather that this collection of work represents the liner notes for some sort of recording. I wish I could have heard the music that accompanies these lyrics – but, alas, it wasn’t included. On their own these “songs” seem to hold up quite well. There does seem to be a very scientific and philosophical bent to a lot of themes that run through out Nod. In fact, I would probably hesitate to recommend this chapbook to anyone who hasn’t already waded through Pirsig’s Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance and Eco’s Foucault’s Pendulum.
