No Pets, No Smokers, No Losers

Quite simply, the best zine I’ve read in a very long time. I was a bit worried when I first got into it that it would be a typical, boring rant about bad roommates. Yeah, yeah, we’ve all had them, they can be wacky and crazy and have unusual habits. Fortunately, however, Two Star Press has complied a collection of truly original and utterly evocative tales of cohabitation chaos. Jason McLean’s dirty laundry list of amazingly odd housemates should inspire fear in anyone who might be considering moving into a house with strangers. It really leaves you wondering whether the dude himself is completely whacked-maybe more so that the characters he tells of. Andrew Kaufman’s “Heather Randall, I’m Sorry” is another great piece, and a nice switch-up, as Kaufman, the writer was the “bad roommate.” A neat little collection, nicely bound and full of great stories.
