When confronted with a work of such staggeringly bizarre beauty, what is one to do? These are surreal frenetic drawings that loosely reference the Six Million Dollar Man. But there is no particular appreciable Steve Austin story in this book, just these wild vibrant paintings reproduced in full colour on a thick paper stock that more than justifies the six buck price tag. So, yeah, I wish I could describe this stuff but I really can’t. You’ll just have to take it from me that this is some of Vancouver artist Jason McLean’s best work yet. (HN)
