Metal Rules

This is my second issue of Metal Rules to review. At first, I thought it was a little narrow sighted, and written by a bunch of goofy guys who still love metal well after their teens. But, with this latest issue, I can’t be so forgiving. A homophobic and sexist attitude overrides the entire issue, whether it’s asking musicians about their favourite sex positions (I’m putting it nicely) or crudely bubble-captioned photographs with anti-queer humour, or demeaning the very bands they are interviewing. Their puerile sense of humour ruins an otherwise pretty decent straight-up metal magazine, and their sincere love for metal has become self parody. (Kevin Jagernauth)
