Louis Riel
The second instalment of the Riel serial is proving that the complex story of the French-speaking Metis people and their leader Louis Riel might just work in comic format after all. #2 is action packed, filled with unlikely escapes, unfortunate coincidences and political intrigues. Although the story moves away from the man Riel himself, this does allow for a more comic book approach to the narrative, making reading the comic less ponderous and more accessible. (HN)
