LOLA

Lola’s definitely keeping it fun and fluffy while tackling serious stuff, it’s a dense but informative read. This ish included a great article about Phillip Monk, the stuffy Toronto curator (AGO, then Power Plant), in which the writer both worships and mocks him. By talking about this article, I impressed my arty friends and a couple of curators. Lots of photos of artwork, a silly restaurant review, a semi-serious history of art/science confluence, an art-lawyer advice column, an overabundance of ads, which are actually pretty informative and useful, and many, many more good articles. Also included a shotgun review section so plentiful, covering billions of art events, that it included a review of Apple’s desktop calculator (very negative). (Flick Harrison)
