Learn about how Star and her friends started up a chapter of Riot Grrrl in London, Ontario. Boys aren’t allowed to participate in their top-secret grrrl-only Sunday night meetings! The grrrls’ll be discussing the “-isms”, menstruation, birth control and personal issues. Article topics in the zine include a little history of the DIY/riot movement, female genital mutilation, the date rape drug Rohypnol, toxic shock syndrome and idiotic rock stars. Oooh, this makes me long for my fuzzy women’s centre days in university. There’s an interview with Kinnie Star, and the zine’s stitched instead of stapled. Very fancy first effort, ladies!
