Kinnie Starr – Anything

I read somewhere that this is Kinnie’s bid for mainstream success and her song writing has been adapted accordingly. It definitely leans to the relentlessly sunny, but that doesn’t have to be such a bad thing (just ask the Osmonds). In fact, this CD covers the spectrum from clever, bouncy sunny summer hit wonderfulness (particularly at the outset) all the way to syrupy, overproduced pop-by-numbers (somewhere around the end when my head gets a cavity). Just remember to floss afterwards and you’ll be okay. (Terence Dick)
