Jones Av

Jones Av is a good poetry zine – a very rare breed. The writers feel familiar, the writing surprises me, but does not dissolve into incomprehensible blabber. The quality is generally high, and I especially liked Vincent Tinguely’s angry Memorandum: “…There’s nothing/ Not a spool, not a peg/ Just air moving slick as a Chinese wall/ Over sculpted North Carolina golf greens/ This pause for the cause/ Is brought to you by exhaustion…” Laura Joy Lustig’s abbreviated style is worth the $2 alone. This is obviously put together by someone who loves poetry. (EPW)
