I’m still scratchin’ my head, thinkin’ what the hell? The title character, “the vivaciously volatile, politically provocative, the anatomically improbable…” Jawbreakin’ Juile jumps to the defense of her reservation when it’s over-run by alien mutant frogs, who naturally are there to turn the reservation into a golf course. Well-drawn is high geek art style with realistic guns and huge boobs (and nipples), Julie gets eaten by one of the frogs, busts out of his stomach and, no longer the “wide-eyed little fawn” commences carnage. Sounds straightforward I guess, but if this is meant to be a political allegory referring to Oka, then why not go all the way, and include some substance, include actual issues rather than wrapping up with Julie barfing over the death and destruction she’d wrought. And why use frogs when we’d have gotten it minus the slur. Oh but hell, I’m being way to serious I guess. It’s a comic, it’s got some funny bits. Maybe you’ll like it. Or maybe you’ll end up scratchin’ yer head too, (HC)
