In Morning Clouds

My favourite zine of last issue returns with a (unintentional?) focus on nature. From the complimentary butterfly pin that sits on the cover to the photographs of flowers and gardens and parks, Sarah contemplates and complements her black and white pictures with descriptions, ruminations and assorted book and zine reviews. The reflection on Linda McCartney’s death reminds us that she was a photographer too. There are pictures of bands: Sonic Youth on stage in Montreal and scenes of the indie music festival in Burlington, Vermont. Sarah even gets as far as Mexico and includes some holiday snaps. I especially like this issue because Sarah sent it directly to me. Usually I just get a big package from Hal and miss out on the essential joy of finding treasures in the mail. Makes me wish I got more. Then again, you have to send mail to get mail and I’m out of stamps. (TD)
