“A long pointless Sloan story” has to top the all time zine articles: Kate goes back stage after the Sloan show. She’s not bragging or name-dropping, indeed most of the article ends up being about getting there and getting home again. What Kate sees is what everybody sees back stage; folks drinking beer and either being normal or being assholes – the stark reality of how basically alike human beigns are when Much Music and CNN aren’t filming. Also in this issue is a glassy goodbye to Eric’s Trip, Your Trainspotting Dictionary ( ie. translations like: “Whin yir oan junk, aw ye worry about is scorin” = When you are a herion addict all you worry about is acquiring more heroin.) and a great piece with the sub-head “I just realized I’m a slow learner.” Amazing how much there is stuffed on to 14 pages and yours for only 2 stamps.
