Here And There

Here And There

This deserves tea and a quiet Sunday afternoon. Please, bear with me. Tim, in each of the four lush poems collected here, takes a specific place and time and ruminates on it. He lets the moments last and linger and occasionally, as in “Seagulls, Near Port Guichon, British Columbia” allows for nostalgia to creep in slowly, but only shortly, before it disappears again. In “Lyric Composed On Rue Ste_Catherine” memory haunts the narrator, almost making a cynic of him, as he observes Montreal “looking past your beauty for the grief”. The brief bio states that Tim is currently working on a forthcoming novel _ if it is as rich as the poetry presented here, we all have something to look forward to. (KJ)
