The problem with most hacking sites, from the Canadian point of view anyway, is that they’re American. Well hey, here in the Great White North we do things a little differently, and that includes toll fraud, computer intrusion and theft of service. If you want to know how to make your PalmPilot into a red box that will work on this side of the 49th, you’ve got to go to Hack Canada. (Of course, if you’ve got the cash to buy toys like PalmPilots, you probably don’t really need to steal free calls from payphones by simulating the sound of quarters dropping through the slots, but it’s the principle of the thing, dammit!) Out there in Edmonton somewhere sits a computer hosting probably every phile pertaining to Canadian hacking ever compiled. It also boasts a pretty good collection of media coverage on the Canuck hacking situation and the usual long list of links. You might also want to check out Project Heisenberg, a collection of classic hacker documents which are not particularly practical, but a lot of fun to read. (DW)
