FUZZY HEADS ARE BETTER

Patti, also the producer of Alternazone, is the moving force and the generous spirit behind this thick, crowded, meaty zine. It is distinguished by an abundance of graphic energy (lotsa squiggles), interviews with unpredictable people, music and film reviews that actually have something to say, and personal frankness. It should also be read with a magnifying glass. Patti has a brain and works hard at making her zine worth reading. Particularly strange and moving is the exchange of letters she reprints at the end: a brief correspondence with a boy named Rusty in California who is later found shot to death on the side of a highway.
