litzine, # 2 5 , 3 6 pgs., $3, P.O. Box 118028, Chicago, IL, 60611-8028, USA

Firstly, the layout of this zine is beautiful. A simple red, screened cardboard cover which hides the slightly smaller sized, professionally printed interior. Not too flashy, yet a nice step up from the cut and paste format. Within these pages are a small collection of short prose and poetry. The poetry is mediocre, while the prose is good. It’s the last piece, however, called “Why Publish?” (by Kelli Williams who does That Girl zine) that is exceptional. Anyone who has been up until three in the morning stapling a zine together will understand. (KJ)
