Freaks, Geeks and Pipsqueaks
Although Andy (of the great punk confessional zine I’m Johnny and I Don’t Give A Fuck) states that these three stories were written by three separate and very idiosyncratic parties, I think it is reasonable to assume that he wrote Freaks, Geeks and Pipsqueaks himself. Not that it matters much. In his fabrication of odd writers _ two obsessed siblings, a disappeared bike courier, and ‘one man freak show’ Gus Braveyard _ Andy successfully adds a meaningful extra layer to these tales. And so aliens land, homeless orphan Annie talks to the portly woman on her shoulder, and love and world conquest start at the donut store. A cute, funny, bizarre little book. (HN)
