Fish Piss

Since this is a review, it’s not really fair to say that Fish Piss’ high level of artistic quality speaks for itself. But it’s true! Louis really does have a knack for creating collections of this sort. He manages to tap right into the Montreal art scene and prints some of the best new work in his fat, juicy zine. FP “isn’t entirely just a Montreal zine, even though it has a lot of stuff and references only Montrealers will understand”. FP always delivers the high quality its reputation deserves; this issue is jam-packed with new fiction, poetry, cartoons, interviews, music and zine reviews, letters and even news shorts. Highlights include: urban ink drawings by Chansigaud, school-yard fiction by Valerie Joy Kalynchuk, and poetry by Jason Gallagher. For the amount of stuff and work that goes into FP, $2.50 seems a very low price indeed. (EPW)
